Mission Statement
Lunchbox Jams is a non-profit
organization that encourages youth to become more active in their communities
through developing and utilizing their artisitc talents in dance and creative
movement. Our efforts to attain this goal produce exemplary role models
capable of embracing values, mentoring others, and living with a strong work
ethic in our society.
Who We
Are
Lunchbox
Jams was first formed in 2004 as a dance group passionate about promoting the
culture of hip hop, break dancing, house dance, and multicultural
understanding. The members are close friends from throughout Michigan who meet
regularly to practice, teach, perform, and brainstorm new ways to achieve
these goals. This highly motivated, tight-knit group strives to serve the
community on a daily basis.

Each
member brings their own unique abilities, interests, aspirations, heritage,
and dance experience. In addition to having full time jobs and/or being
university students, we still find time to organize community events and
regularly provide performances for charity and cultural events. Our members
also use their spare time as dance instructors to further community awareness
and talent in such towns as Ann Arbor, Canton, Flint, Royal Oak, and East
Lansing.
Since
registering as a non-profit organization, Lunchbox Jams is further able to
commit to mentoring and empowering the youth to use their talents to make a
positive impact in their own communities. The value of the support and
creative exchange between the individuals who embrace these arts is enormous,
and this effort should be supported as much as possible now in order to build
a stronger more active community for the future.
